Creative Work

As a freelance writer, I am dedicated to telling stories that explore the intersection of environmental and social justice, particularly in the context of water resources.

I recently graduated with a master’s degree in natural resources and environmental science journalism at the University of Montana (UM). Although I am from Idaho, I came to this program byway an international newsroom in Medellín, Colombia. I have been published in Grist, Audubon, Mongabay, Business Insider, High Country News, and Entrepreneur and Forbes Centroamerica, amongst others.

I currently teach an undergraduate course on information literacy at UM entitled “Calling BS”. My long-term goal is to become a journalist who examines the connection of people and place. I aim to do this through stories that look at challenges being experienced on the landscape amid rapid environmental and social change.
